Contact Information Dr. Dell Allen Dr. Dell Allen holds a BS from USU, an MS from BYU and an Ed.D from USU in Manufacturing Engineering. He taught Engineering Technology at BYU for 35 years, and at Utah State University for 13 years. He has published numerous textbooks, lab manuals, and technical papers including a 17-volume set on the Manufacturing Process. His CAM Software Research Center at BYU was the “incubator” for over a hundred new companies. He has been a consultant and/or resident engineer for Boeing, Caterpillar, HP, Hughes, Magnavox, the US Army, Whirlpool, IBM, AT&T, and numerous other companies in this country and abroad. Dr. Allen holds four patents. His creative works include pumps, hydraulic presses, building materials, and computer indexing systems. In 2009 he received the BYU Alumni Association Special Recognition Award. In 1988 he received the Karl G. Maeser Research and Creative Arts Award. In 1987 he was awarded the Utah Governor’s Medal for Science and Technology. He has a very unique and practical approach to education.
